Volunteer With Mercy
Volunteering with us is more than giving your time; it’s about being part of something that truly matters. Every hour you share helps create real change for children and families who need it most.
Whether you can offer to volunteer for a single day, support us at an event, bring a project idea to life, or commit as a volunteer for several months or years, your contribution makes a lasting difference. You can volunteer on your own or together with a group, organization, or club.
Here, every helping hand is valued, no matter how big or small. Join the Mercy family, experience meaningful connection, and know that what you give truly makes an impact. We would love to welcome you as a volunteer.
Thank you—you will make a difference!

Individual/International Volunteers
We welcome individuals or international volunteers who want to make a meaningful and responsible contribution during their time in Thailand. Whether you bring professional experience, practical skills, or simply the willingness to help – there is a place for you as a volunteer at the Mercy Centre.
Work Directly with Children
International volunteers can support our educational programs as:
English Teachers in Our Preschools
Support early childhood education and provide stability for our youngest learners.
After-School Tutoring
Help Mercy’s children with homework and learning after their regular school day
Evening Program
Engaging with the children through cooking activities and sports.
To ensure continuity and emotional stability for the children, volunteering directly with them requires a minimum commitment of 6-months.

Support Our Team Behind the Scenes
If you prefer to contribute your professional skills, we also welcome volunteers in areas such as:
- Office administration and logistics
- Fundraising support
- Public relations, communications, and social media
- IT and technical support
Every volunteer contribution helps us build a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children and families at the Mercy Centre. If you are interested in volunteering with us, write to us and tell us about your skills, availability, and how you would like to help.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Organizational Volunteers
Looking for a meaningful way to give back as a team?
We offer hands-on volunteer activities that can be easily adapted to your group size and the time you have available. Got 10 people and 3 hours one morning? Perfect.
A smaller team for a full day? Even better. We’ll match your group with a well-prepared, meaningful project where you can make a real difference — and leave knowing your time truly mattered.
Groups & One-Day Visits
If you have a specific skill, trade, or project idea, we would love to hear from you. Volunteers often support one day or short-term projects.
Here are some examples of activities your group may be invited to support:
- Renovating or renewing school playgrounds
Assisting with events, or helping to implement creative or technical solutions. - Community Care & Improvement
Assist with simple repairs, cleaning, painting, or organizing shared spaces that are used by families and children in the communities we serve. - Preparing & Distributing Essentials
Help prepare food packages or basic care items for families in need — a practical way to support dignity and daily well-being. - Mercy Farm & Maintenance Support
Assist with light farm work, gardening, or maintenance tasks that contribute to our long-term sustainability and self-reliance efforts.

Volunteering Benefits
This and much more…
Connection to Community
Volunteering is one of the most effective ways to strengthen your ties to the local community. It allows you to meet people from diverse backgrounds whom you might not otherwise encounter, helping to broaden your social network and reduce feelings of isolation.
Physical and Mental Health
Engaging in altruistic activities such as volunteering can significantly reduce stress and anxiety. The “helper’s high”—a release of endorphins following a selfless act—is a documented psychological phenomenon. Additionally, many volunteer roles involve physical activity, which helps maintain mobility and overall fitness.
Career Advancement and Skill Building
For those looking to pivot or advance professionally, volunteering provides a low-risk environment to learn new skills. You can gain experience in: Project Management, Team Leadership, Strategic Planning, Communication, and Public Speaking.
Increased Self-Confidence
Accomplishing tasks for the benefit of others provides a natural sense of accomplishment. This can lead to an improved self-image and a more positive outlook on life, which often translates into greater confidence in other areas, such as your career or personal relationships.
Developing Empathy and Perspective
Volunteering with different organizations exposes you to the challenges faced by others. This firsthand experience fosters empathy and provides a broader perspective on social issues, which can change the way you view global events and local challenges.
A Sense of Purpose
Finding meaningful ways to contribute can give life a clearer sense of direction. For many, the knowledge that they are volunteering and making a tangible difference in the lives of others or the environment provides a fulfillment that traditional work or hobbies may not always offer.
