Easter/ Thai New Year

2 April 2021

Dear everyone,

I can’t possibly dream of anything more angelic than the pure innocence sounds of 270  kindergarten 4 & 5 & 6 year, mostly Buddhist (a handful of Catholics) kids chanting their daily school morning prayers ending with our beautiful Hail Mary to Our Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus, whom they know loves them all.
A few days ago, in my Easter Blessing, I promised a letter.  Here is the best that I can do.

Easter 2021

25 March 2021

That’s what it was this morning. A glorious stroll past that wall with the cracks in it – because as the song says:  that’s where the light gets in.  And the Easter Light came in this morning.  Came for you and me.

Proud Graduates

17 Febuary 2021

We are incredibly proud of five of our Mercy children that graduated from Pramahataisuksa School. They plan to continue their studies at university and they have dreams and aspirations that they are striving towards. We would like to wish them the best in their future endeavours and encourage them to overcome obstacles with grit, determination and positivity.  This would not have been possible without the generous support from our friends and supporters who showed an unwavering faith and belief in these fine, young graduates. Your support continues to be essential for these graduates as they move forward to another chapter in their lives.

We are safe, healthy & happy. True, our kindergartens are closed the month of January.  But Government asks us to feed our 2,000 kindergarten slum kids in our 22 slum schools/kitchens & we feed them well.  All of them are gaining weight and growing like weeds (as they are supposed to do.)  We clean & clean, & wear masks & wash & wash & employ our 300 elderly folks in the slum kitchens cook & wash the pots & pans & go the fresh market, and IF food is left over, take it home, so nothing is wasted.  I repeat nothing is wasted. I sincerely wish all of you could come and help cook food for our kids.
