Calling him Gimp didn't seem offensive, although maybe it was, but the kids he taught for months and years in the Slaughter House Slum accepted him for what he was: a gimp, with thick glasses, virtues, and warts and wrinkles, all wrapped up together.

The most special day of the year - we are proud, humble and truly grateful for being part of this day - Graduation Day at Mercy preschool. 448 amazing children, 4 Mercy children and 444 children from the slum communities - the next generation full of joy, happiness and exitement to continue their education.

She's a gentle mum, an Auntie Mum who is now of an auntie age. For 64 years she has lived in our Klong Toey slum. Her name is Pu Glin, a common name from days gone by. It means the fragrant aroma of sweet flowers.
