March 7th, 2025. It was a day to remember — children in black caps and gowns radiated joy, proudly clutching their diplomas while parents beamed with pride, offering warm hugs and vibrant bouquets. The Mercy Centre Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony 2025 was not just an event; it was a celebration of dreams and potential.
Over 200 young learners marked this milestone, including 205 kindergarten children, 3 Mercy Home children, and 5 Moken children from southern Thailand.
The 205 kindergarten graduates from our 17 schools received state-recognized certificates, providing them the stepping stone to continue their education in the Thai Government Primary Schools. Khun Usanee shared how these achievements mark the start of their lifelong learning journey, enriched by lessons of community and kindness. As Father Joe said, "Mercy schools teach children something about life itself."
The graduation ceremony also celebrated three young adults from our Mercy Homes. Among them, Arisara Janthong, a graduate in dance from the College of Dramatic Arts, is preparing for marketing studies, while others like Chompunuch Khammajan and Attakorn Den step confidently into bright futures.
The festival was also a huge success for the children of our project in the south of Thailand, the Moken children. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the tsunami in 2004, and we're dedicated to supporting them in their journey towards education. Nuchjarin Noodaeng, 22, whose journey began in a fisherman’s family, is now completing vocational training in electronics, exemplifying resilience and determination.
This day is not just about diplomas; it’s about nurturing dreams and forging futures. Together, we celebrate the profound journey of learning and the unstoppable spirit of these children.
The love and support from all our Mercy Family is what allows us to continue this critical work to educate the children in our care. We are immensely grateful for each and every one of you who walk this journey of hope with us.
