Sports Day for Street Kids

It might seem like a strange place to organize a day of fun for children, but the narrow band of public park right under the pillars of the Rama III Bridge was a perfect spot for our Mercy Sports Day for Street Kids. Many street kids live and sleep near by. Its towering cement pillars are familiar and comforting. We protect these street children day by day, and think of them as family, but we also try to persuade them, very softly and gently, to understand they can always leave the streets, go to school, play sports, and make friends in a safe and caring shelter at our Mercy Centre.
