A New School Year

18 June 2019

Dear everybody,

It’s a new school year in Thailand and I wish you could see our children spic and span in their new school uniforms. Kids who never had a new dress or pair of trousers, so proud to walk into their classroom and tell the teacher their name.

Thank you to everyone for being a part of that.

We haven’t written for a while, but we certainly haven’t been asleep. We’ve been thinking of you and the children keep on asking about you.

We began our journey a long, long time ago in a far-off galaxy called the slaughterhouse of Klongtoey and navigated our classroom sized spaceships across the eons of 48 years and sprinkled the star dust of learning how to read and write over 40,000 kids.

The children are so excited about coming to school everyday, and so are we excited about the coming new school year -- thrilled that so many children are going to come up and say to us, "I can write my name!"

We wish you were here to see it all and wave them off to school every morning, telling them how special they are.

And to update you on Miss Booey, whom I spoke about in my last letter – well, she has her first new pair of glasses now and she can colour in the lines. Now, that’s neat.

Our prayers
