Dear Everyone.
 
It’s been a while, and Catholic Lent is here.  Lent is when we prepare in a special way to meet Jesus walking into Jerusalem (along with the slum alleyways of Bangkok). 
I send you a picture: of one of our young heroes.  To ask him to walk alongside with him is a privilege and an honor:  walk alongside him along the slum pathways – leading into Glory Land.
 
The picture was taken ‘a short yesterday ago.’ And he brought us to meet his snarly dog who guards him and granny at night.  Snarly dog sleeps outside, but next to their mosquito net near the canal not far from the old slaughterhouse.  He is the one who taught us which used plastic bottles sell best to the junk man.  Recently, there ‘was a trade-off’  the slum kindergarten teacher agreed to teach him to write his name and he agreed to teach the teacher which used plastic bottles sell best, and where to run if some bad people come around.   The elderly ladies who sell fresh fish usually protect him.  Yes, the police come, but slowly.
 
To me, Fr. Joe, the old priest, I imagine how much like young Jesus this young boy must have looked and acted, and I try to show respect and honor. 
So Lent blessings and Easter Joy to all of you. I am sure we will meet walking along the path.  If you see a used plastic bottle or something you can sell, pick it up.  All of our kids will know the price.
 
All my love and respect to all of you.  Naturally, if you have anything leftover from selling used plastic bottles to the junkman, please do send it to us for Easter.
